Flatbed & Crane Shipping Container Delivery Video

Flatbed & Crane Shipping Container Delivery

In this video, you can see our shipping containers hitting the road on a standard flatbed truck rather than our usual tilt-bed trailers. While tilt-beds are great for sliding a container directly onto the ground, they aren’t always the right tool for the job. Transporting containers via flatbed requires heavy machinery like a crane or an industrial forklift, to safely lift the container off the truck and place it in its final spot.

When is a Crane and Flatbed Delivery Necessary?

Why would you choose a flatbed delivery over a tilt-bed? Here are the most common scenarios where a crane is required:

  • Precision Placement: If you are placing a container on a highly specific foundation (like concrete piers or a tight footprint for a custom home build), a crane offers pinpoint accuracy that a tilt-bed cannot match.
  • Obstacles and Barriers: If your container needs to be placed behind a tall fence, over a wall, or tucked into a backyard with no driveway access, a crane can easily lift the unit right over the obstacle.
  • Commercial Job Sites: Many commercial construction sites already have cranes and heavy-duty forklifts on hand. In these cases, flatbed delivery is often the most efficient and cost-effective method to get your storage containers delivered in bulk.
  • Multiple Units: Flatbeds can often transport multiple containers at once, making it ideal for large-scale operations across the Southeast US.
